Save the Children is the world´s leading child rights organization.  We advocate for the rights of children and adolescents, and ensure that they survive, learn and are protected from harm in over 100 countries around the world. For nearly 50years we have worked in Guatemala with multiple ministries and municipalities on health and nutrition programs for children, access to education and food in the public school system, and assistance to children and their families during emergencies.  We have protected children from any abuse of their rights. We do not - and we have never - facilitated the movement of children out of Guatemala.    

Our decades of work for the children of Guatemala speaks of our commitment and accountability to the children and families with whom we work, always ensuring the protection of our beneficiaries.  As a respected international organization based in the UK we hold ourselves to the highest standards when it comes to child safeguarding and financial stewardship. We are also held accountable by the UK Charities Commission and our books are audited annually by multiple donors.  

We have been shocked and perplexed by the unprecedented search of our offices by the Guatemalan Public Ministry. No specific allegations were made known to us, andthere is no evidence to support allegations of misconduct. 

We remain dedicated to providing development and humanitarian assistance to children and their families in Guatemala.
